Residential Warranty Company, LLC (RWC), a leading provider of insured home warranties to the building industry, has been fairly busy lately enhancing the quality of its home warranty programs and the efficiency of its system for members. This trend continues as RWC moves towards an online process for home enrollment validation.
The process as it stands has buyers sign the Application for Warranty form at closing. After RWC receives the signed copy and warranty fee, a validation sticker on a postcard is sent via regular “snail mail.” Depending on how quickly RWC receives the information back from the closing, how timely the enrollments are processed, and how quickly the mail is delivered, it can take up to several weeks until a validation sticker arrives in the buyer’s mailbox.
So, what’s the plan to improve this system?
Members currently using RWC’s Warranty Express know that PDFs of the warranty book and the Application for Warranty form are available in time for closing. This won’t change.
But on the front cover of the warranty book, where the validation sticker box is currently located, there will be instructions directing the homeowner to visit firstname.lastname@example.org to validate their warranty. Here, the homeowner will answer a few short questions to confirm that they are the purchasers and then, they will receive a full color PDF of their new warranty confirmation form. The warranty confirmation form will include the following information: Validation Number, Effective Date of Warranty, Term of Coverage, and any applicable Addenda.
Now, homeowners will no longer be expected to wait for confirmation to arrive in the mail. They will be spared the hassle of having to request a duplicate if the original gets lost. Also, and probably best of all, homeowners will enjoy immediate validation of their home warranty whenever they choose to login to Warranty Express. What’s more, they will be able to view the warranty book online that was issued for their home in the future.
RWC is just a few months away from implementation. Until then, RWC is working hard to streamline the process to make its system as optimized for members and their home buyers as possible.
