Experienced Warranty Provider

  • In business for over 40 years, HOME of Texas and national affiliate RWC has administered warranties on more than 4 million homes.

Insured Third Party Warranty

  • When your Builder selects a HOME warranty for your new home, you are being given a written and insured commitment that your home will be repaired if specified defects arise.
  • Our Insurer only writes insurance for its Builder Members. That means you don’t have to worry about the insurer behind your home warranty going out of business because of other factors that typically affect insurance companies like, natural disasters, oil spills, etc.

Membership Must Be Earned

  • HOME does NOT have an open door policy when it comes to our Builder Membership. Builders must meet our strict screening standards. This ensures your future (or wallet) isn’t jeopardized by a careless or financially unstable builder.

Widely Recognized New Home Feature

  • Most builder warranties – the unwritten, uninsured “promise and a handshake” variety – expire after one year. The standard HOME warranty includes a 10 year term for warranted structural defects.

Written Warranty Book

  • HOME provides a set of clearly written and easy to understand warranty standards, reducing “guess-work” in terms of determining whether or not something is a defect.
  • If a dispute arises between you and your Builder regarding whether or not something should be considered a defect, the limited warranty document can be a valuable ‘measuring stick’ for evaluating the issues.

Customer Service – Mediation

  • HOME provides a neutral & effective 3rd party dispute resolution process if a situation arises.
  • Approximately 95% of warranty dispute issues between Builders and Homeowners are resolved through HOME’s FREE Mediation procedures. (If needed, formal binding arbitration is available.)

Customer Service – Arbitration

  • HOME’s warranty programs provide an avenue for formal binding arbitration, if needed.
  • Arbitrators used are mutually agreed upon by the parties involved and are experienced in arbitrating residential construction matters.

Value After the Sale

  • Your home is warranted for the duration of the warranty period, based on the specific warranty placed on your home. Even if the builder retires or goes out of business, the HOME warranty remains in effect for the term.
  • If your home is sold during that warranty term, the balance of the warranty automatically transfers to the next homeowner.

Ask your builder to include a HOME of Texas warranty on your new home to ensure lasting protection.
